Christmas around the World day 1

Yesterday we traveled to Isreal and learned about their festival of lights. They call it Hanukkah. We learned a lot about this holiday not only in class but in library.

Here are a few facts we now know:
1. They light candels on the Menorah each night.
2. They play a game called dreudel.
3. Parents give kids gifts each night of Hanukkah
4. Hanukkah lasts 8 nights!

Today we are going to India!!! We are going to learn about Ramadan and Diwali. Hopefully we will write more tomorrow! : ) Thanks for reading!

Here is a little bit about our class:

we have LOTS of cool books in our class.
we have a class pet. He is a guinea pig, his name is Peanut.
We have a big tree in our class.
We have a word wall that we add new words to!

We have 13 boys in our class!
We have 10 girls in our class!
OH, and 1 totally awesome teacher! :)

In class this week we have been learning about Pilgrims, Mayflower, and Native Americans. On Friday, it is a special day, we are having a kindergarten feast. We are so excited!!! We will share some pictures with you soon!
